my PC is connected to the internet but when I open internet explorer or
Firefox I cannot access any webpages. It says that it is unable to connect
etc... This happens a lot and the PC needs restarting so I can access the
internet. I can still use Skype to talk to people and the anti virus database
still updates. Can someone please help me to sort this problem. Thanks

1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Taps:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.

2... And also for malwares from here:
http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
http://www.safer-networking.org ; for Spybot S&D

Then Try this:
Open a Run Command and type in these DLL to reregister and see if that will
help:
regsvr32 Dssenh.dll
regsvr32 Rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 Gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 Slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 Mssip32.dll
regsvr32 Cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 Initpki.dll
regsvr32 Sccbase.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 Wintrust.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Jscript.dll
netsh winsock reset

You may have winsock corrupt or damaged so download this winsock fixer:
http://www.nasstec.co.uk/tools.html
Double click it to run it and Reboot your machine and see if you will be
able to access the Internet with either IE or Fox.
After finishing Reboot your machine and try to log in on that site.
HTH.
Let us know.

Damaged winsock is a possibility, faulty or misconfigured Antivirus/Internet
Security product is another.

Some clues can be had by pinging Internet sites by IP and by name. If this
works (both methods) it's a browser problem, if not, it's fairly fundamental
IP-related problem.
