Internal Modem

I

Ian

I have a problem with my modem and Windows XP Home
Edition. All was working fine until I reinstalled
Windows. After this my modem is being detected as 'PCI
Simple Communications Controller' and showing up under
Other Devices in Device Manager. Its a bog standard
internal 56K PCI modem. Shouldn't Windows install drivers
for this automatically? I've tried various drivers and
removing the modem, reinstalling XP again and then
reintroducing the card but still no success.

Can anyone help? I'm going crazy here.

Hi,

Try boot in safe mode and login as administrator, go to
device amanager and remove it then reboot. Let windows
search and install the proper drivers. If is still no
avail, try a google search for the XP drivers of your
modem. You may also try drivers.com
