Internal error when trying to run windows media player

When I try to open WMP, or play any media file I get an "Internal application
error " message.
Unfortunately my computer didn't come with an installation CD. I don't have
a recovery CD either :(.
What do I do?

Click Start, Run and type:

regsvr32 jscript.dll

and then run this:

regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Note down the error messages if any.
