Intermittent receive error server found but no response 0x800421

When checking mail on several accounts only Gmail is successful sending and
receiving.
All other accounts on 2 different isps error out. If I log off and on to my
Windows XP user it fixes the problem for several hours or days. Reboot also
fixes the problem. This problem started in the last 2 weeks. If I check one
account at a time, the same problem occurs and I have turned off Norton 2005
Internt security with no help.
