interference through my speakers when using a webcam

Can anyone help correct my sound problem! Have just bought a webcam with a
built in mic. trouble is when i'm on messenger and click audio, i seem to get
a lot of interference playing back through my desktop speakers, Don't think
there isn't anything i haven't tried!
