Bluetooth Headset is Unavailable as Option in Sounds and Audio Dev

I'm running XP Pro SP3. I wanted to set up my bluetooth headset for use with
Live Messenger. Support from Live Messenger confirms that it will use
whatever speaker/mic devices that the o/s detects. I've seen a couple of
postings on this issue from users who used to be able to do this with SP2 but
it no longer works with SP3.

So when I open the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window and look at
the Default device dropdowns from the Audio and Voice tabs, I only see my
default integrated device in the dropdown. It does not detect my bluetooth
device. This then also means that when I try to set up Live Messenger to use
my bluetooth, it similarly only sees my integrated speaker/mic device.

Is this an SP3 bug? If so, how does this get reported/scheduled for
resolution?

If it is not a bug, then how is this fixed?

If this is not the appropriate discussion group to post this question,
please advise the correct group that should be used.

I suspect that you have to install some software for your Bluetooth
Headset to appear as an Audio Device to Windows. This may have come with
the headset, or be downloadable from the manufacturer's website.
