Do not use the maximize button. Grab the corners of the window and drag it
to full screen size. Close the program using the red X in the upper
right-hand corner. The next time you open the program, Windows will remember
the last screen size used.

Thanks Bruce, that worked, but there's GOTTA be way to make IE open
maximized everytime.

If you followed the instructions I gave, the window should open to the size
you dragged it to the next time you open it.

Bruce
Right...that's exactly what I did, and IT WORKED. BUT....it is not
maximized. it is larger, but not maximized. LARGER BUT NOT MAXIMIZED.

Did you drag it to its *full extent*? I can not think of a reason why this
would not work. Note that if you drag it to *full screen* the Minimize
button will put it in the system tray, not just make it smaller.

NO, do not use the Red X, use File/Close or Exit.

Shouldn't need it with XP, but I may try it and support it if it is
*free*.

Well...
"IE New Window Maximizer is freeware. You may use this program for free."

Also read other reviews on it that say it is free of malware.
Otherwise, I definitely would not have suggested it. heh
Personally, I use Firebird as my browser..

You think SP2 is released to the general public with the best wishes of MS?
I think I'll hold my opinion of your IEMaximizer until you get your facts
straight.

You can download SP2 now at your own risk, but it will be a month or two
before it is approved an added to Windows Updates.

Take a look at the response of MVP's in OE6 NG regarding this

3/19/04 - PST

news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress

I'll wait until it's included in Windows Updates.

Bruce

Uhmmm, actually Bruce, MS was the one who released RC1 of SP2 to the public.

Right click your shortcut, choose Properties. Note the Run box shows Normal
Window. Click the triangle to the right of the run box. Choose Maximize.

While I do respect your conservative reservations, how you can possibly work
an MS newsgroup with those conceptions/convictions? Chill and live a
little?)
