Intellipoint Optical Mouse Pointer

The pointer for my Intellipoint USB Optical Mouse doesn't always stay in
place. It often jumps right off of the display. At other times, it climbs up
the screen when I stop moving the mouse on the pad.

Has anyone else had this problem? What's up?

Do you have Microsoft Office installed? If so, do you have Speech Services
turned on?

I haven't specifically turned them on. As far as I know, the speech engine
was installed by default. I've looked into the panel from Control Panel, but
I've done nothing more than that.

Does speech recognition have anything to do with this?

Try another pad or different surface for the mouse.
