Then why not try going back to a non crappy version. I am currently using
V2.2 and it works great for me. This is for a Win98SE system, but hey, what
have you got to lose. I heard problems started with V4, so try out any
earlier than that.

The problem is that with those of us (as loyal Intellimouse users) bought
the "new and improved" Intellimouse to find out it was stripped of nearly
all the customization features. Moreover there was vague wording in the
description and on the box about "fully customizable buttons" which leads
folks to believe just what it said.

Some guy in marketing got a bonus for that phrase I'm sure....
