Intellipoint 5.0 - missing options for programmed buttons

Intellipoint 5.0 does not allow me the option of programming the
wheel-button as "last window" (ALT+TAB). Instead it offers "next window",
which steps through every open window. I need to toggle between the last two
windows. (I see that "backspace" is also missing).

Is there a registry hack to allow me to use my preferred combination?

Why was ALT-TAB removed at all?

For the moment I'll have to revert to an older version of Intellipoint,
which works, but of course doesn't support wireless/battery monitoring. If
there's no solution I'll have to take a look at competing products.

This is a "known" problem and you need to download the updated Intellipoint
drivers version 5.2.

Thanks for the info. MS is currently giving me a 404 on the Intellipoint 5.2
download. And, interestingly, 5.2 will be a year old in two days time, which
makes me wonder why my mouse was supplied with 5.0!

Well, I'll see if I can get 5.2 elsewhere.

Found 5.2 elsewhere, it doesn't have the keystrokes I require but does allow
you to record your own.... except that it will accept neither ALT+TAB, or
backspace.

Marvellous.

I used to swear by MS mice. Now I just swear at them. Logitech, here I come.
