Intellipoint 5.0

Does anyone know if there are any advantages to using the new Intellipoint
5.0 for an "older" optical Intellimouse? I know that it does add support
for the new tilt-wheel mice, which I don't own. I'm currently using version
4.1

Thanks.

I wouldn't just fluff off that it was your system. I saw several
threads on neowin.net when it first came out. I'd say most if not
all the people who tried to run it, had similar errors. Since the
new "mice" aren't out yet, maybe the new 5.0's will only work
"correctly" with the new mice, no matter what MS says

Typical... it seems that their software doesn't work with their own
products. If the new drivers were only for the new mice, they should have
said so.

No, the 5.0 driver is for all MS mice. If it was only for the newest ones
you wouldn't be able to select from the entire MS mouse product line in the
setup and the version for older mice would still be available. 5.0 is
supposed to replace all older versions but it still has some bugs.
