intellenet hub

i have three computers (2 XP 1 98) connected to an intellenet hub. the one xp and 1 98 work. i have tried to replace wires and have switched them around, all with the same result. the 1 xp that won't work with the hub will work direct connect bypassing the hub. i am using cable modem

Try explicitly making speed and duplex settings for the network
adapter in the xp that won't work with the hub. Automatically sensing
speed and duplex sometimes fails. Details here:
