Instant Search & Advanced Find return no results

Both Instant Search & Advanced Find return no search results from any folder
for any search argument.
1. I'm running Vista Home Premium and Outlook 2007.
2. I've run Microsoft Updates and have no outstanding updates.
3. I've run the Office Diagnostics.
4. I've run SCANPST against both my primary PST and my archive PST.
5. I've removed and re-added both PST files from indexing.
6. I've rebuilt the index.
I'm out of ideas. Looking at the number and dates of various postings it
appears that Microsoft has had more than enough time to acknowledge the
problems and provide a solution where Outlook Search simplying works out the
user having to perform time consuming chants and charms.

I am having the same issue. I have searhed through many threads and have
tried all suggestions. Ironically, I have this issue with my Vista Ultimate
pc running Outlook 2007. My XP Pro machine, running outlook 2007 returns
instant search results just fine.

I will post as soon as I find a resolution.

I still have the same problem too and went through all the steps mentioned
above. Although i fixed the pst.file and re-indexed everything, the search is
still not working. I hope that this gets fixed soon, as the search option is
very important. I have never had those problems with Lotus Notes.

I have the same problem and I did reindex everything twice. I can't believe
there is no easy solution for it yet. I'm searching in many different places,
but all I got see is people with the same problem with no definitive solution.

I am using google desktop search now. That way you can search inside outlook
and it brings up all the emails with the word you are searching for.

It's unbelievable that Outlook does not do that on its own, but if its
impossible i am just using google. It works like a charm.
