Installing XP Professional on a SATA Drive

I just installed a new Maxtor 250G SATA drive and having a trouble installing
XP from Install CD. Keeps on looking for specific files which are there on
the CD but setpup can not find. The CD is new and I had used just a few
months ago to install on an IDE drive which is now damaged and can not be
used.\

Have VIA controller. Am installing VIAMRAID.sys.

What else do I need?

You need to install the raid drivers. They are located on
either a floppy disk or CD that came with the controller by
pressing F6 when the initial setup shows Press F6 to install
SCSI. If the drivers are on a CD you would have to remove
the XP installation CD, put in the driver CD and then after
the driver is installed put the XP CD back in the drive.

Thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned that I had installed the SCSI drivers, even
downloaded the latest version and installed them. The problem was that when
XP Setup was downloading files from the CD, it kept on skipping certain
files at random. I tried several XP CDs and several versions of XP but the
problem was the same.

Anyway the problem is solved - it turns out one of the memory stick is bad.
I pulled it out and XP installed fine.
