INSTALLING XP PRO

I have XP home installed on D drive,when trying to install XP pro on C
drive,it says that the current version is newer than what I am installing.any
sugestions please

If your Home version has SP2 and the Pro version you are trying to install
is SP1 or earlier then the problem you describe will always occur. You
cannot insatll an 'older' version after you have installed/upgraded to a
'newer' version.

Uninstall the Home SP2 upgrade and try again.
 
Hello,
I don't know if you are familiar with PC internals. I did what you are
trying by disconnecting the data buss connector from the back of the HDD I
DIDN'T want formatted. Once you get the drives with the OS you want,
reconnect the plug, and just go into the setup mode (you know, press "delete"
