installing XP onto disk larger than 137GB

I have a licensed copy of WindowsXP Professional and I am trying to
install this on a brand new system.

The BIOS does recognize the full 300GB capacity of my SATA disk, but the
Windows XP installer treats it like a 137 GB disk.

I am aware that XP supports 48bit LBA beginning with either SP1 or SP2.
But when I try to get the latest service pack from Microsoft, all of
the instructions involve updating an already installed system. How can
I get XP installed onto this disk using the full 300GB capacity?

You need to "splipstream" SP1 or SP2 with XP and then burn a bootable
cd-rom. Microsoft included some of this information in it's knowledge
base, but you can find better instructions by doing a web search.

Note that versions of Roxio's Media Creator 7 and later can no longer
create the appropiate bootable cd-rom. If you don't have version 6,
you'll need to buy and use Nero burning rom, or the Nero package
which includes burning rom.

You also need to get a freeware / shareware program, isobuster.
Looks like there's a new owner of this software and the version
is 1.7 now (I have 1.6), here is the link (old one was isobuster.com):
