OK, so I bought XP and upgraded my computer from Millenium
edition. Well that was a few months ago and I have decided
now to get a new computer. I will no longer need the XP
that I bought, so I wanted to give it/sell it to a friend.
Will he be able to use it? I know there are certain
restrictions on installing and using it on more than one
computer, but in this case, would it work?? What can I do?
Thanks!

Yes, there are restrictions for installing and using one licensed copy of
Windows XP on more than one system. There won't be any problem, if you
uninstall it from the old system. If it's been more than 120 days,
Microsoft has flushed its Product Activation database, and there should be
no problem installing from that CD to a different system. But, if it's been
less than that amount of time, Product Activation will have to be done by
phone. Explain the situation, and you'll be given a number to Activate.
