Installing XP on a Custom Computer

If I were to vuild my own computer, what version of XP
should I buy? There are OEM versions, upgrade versions,
and more. What version is the correct one to buy?

The retail version allows for direct support from Microsoft.. OEM versions
do not..

I would buy the retail version. If you own a qualifying product such as 95,
98 or ME a upgrade version is all you will need. You can upgrade from these
versions (all but 95) or do a clean install using one of these as a
qualifying version, using a XP Upgrade.
