I'm going to give my son's old PC to another relative and want to upgrade it
from WinME to XP Home. I might as well make it a clean install. However, the
hard disk is currently partitioned into 3 or 4 drives and for simplicity I'd
like the new system to just have one big C drive.

Using the standard XP upgrade procedures for a complete install instead of
an "upgrade" install, will I get the chance to reconfigure the partitions on
the hard drive, or do I have to run Partition Commander or PartitionMagic on
my own beforehand and repartition the drive manually?

The XP disk will remove the existing partitions and install XP on one new
partition. Jym

Booting from the Windows XP Home CD, you have the option of deleting
the current partitions and creating new ones.

Good luck
