Installing WinXP Prof. Help

I was upgrading my Win98SE with WinXP Prof., but at the
end, where it says "Finalizing Installation", "Removing
Temporary Files", "Approximetly 1 minute left", it just
stops right there. I even let it sit overnight, and when
I came back, nothing happened. Now, it won't complete
setup, I can't access my stuff on my hard drive, and I
don't know what to do besides format my HD. Any
suggestions?

If it didnt finish, the install has failed,so 98 might be corrupted as
well.XP Pro doesnt upgrade very well.Youre best bet,and what
microsoft recommends.Install xp cd,boot to xp cd (you might need
to set this in the BIOS),sometimes pressing F1 Help key gets boot menu,
once you boot to cd,at info page, select, install xp,new copy, delete the
current partition, create one, then xp will format the hd and do a clean
installation (preffered).
