Install XP Prof

I was running XP installed by my company.I got a virus
and was unable to keep my computer from turning off. So I
boufght a XP Prof upgrade. Now my computer is trying to
install Windows but can't get pass "Prepoaring for
Installation"....The CD turns and the displays of XP's
features go on....BUT....my hard drive doesn't seem to be
moving and no installation is taking place...just the
message "setup will complete in approx:39minutes..it's
been there for hours
