BEEN ENCOUNTERED THAT PREVENTS SETUP FROM CONTINUING. ONE OF THE
COMPONETS THAT WINDOWS NEEDS TO CONTINUE SETUP COULD NOT BE INSTALLED.
INCORRECT FUNCTION.

ERROR: SXS: DLL syntax error in manifest or policy file.
"D:/1386/asms/6000/MSFT/WINDOWS/CONTROLS/.MAN" on line 4

I am confused and do not know what to do. I want to unistall windows

Hi (e-mail address removed),

Oftentimes this error is due to a bad install CD. Ensure that the install CD
is not dirty or noticeably scratched/damaged.
If the install CD is one that you (or someone else) burned, perhaps to make
a slipstreamed with SP2 CD, then some files/folders may have been corrupted
during the copying process.

Regards,
