Installing Windows 2000 over XP

Ericm

I currently am running Windows XP Pro on my computer. My
school offers Windows 2000 Pro to the students free of
charge to download. I have 2000 Pro downloaded and when I
try to install a popup appears saying "This CD-ROM is from
an older version of Windows than the one you are presently
using. Setup functionality from this disk will be
disabled". I would think I could go from Windows XP to
2000, but I don't know if there's somethign on XP I need
to override to install it.

Thanks

You can't "upgrade" from XP to 2000, you will need to format (erase) your
computer and install 2000. That means all of your files and programs will
be erased.

What's wrong with XP?
