I'm a computer illiterate who has gotten into games.Battlefield 1942
Multiplayer demo in particular, works fine having fun! Vista Ultimate 64bit OS
So I go buy BF2 complete collection and BF1942 complete collection and
install them. First was BF2, all seemed to work fine locally, worked once or
twice online then started coming up with invalid cd key errors...Installed to
my other XPSP2 comp, all ok. Installed BF1942, locally throws me back to
desktop at end of a campaign round wanting correct cd and restart app with
correct cd already there, online play no good with punkbuster, some other
servers ok- then boom! Invalid cd key errors here as well.
So I uninstall BF1942 all of em, when I try to uninstall BF2 either from EA
games folder uninstall or windows add/remove programs the shield won't
actually open, gets so far then just disappears altogether...Try to
reinstall, gets so far and says install shield was interrupted. EA Games
folder shows as if whole BF2 game is still installed, try to play and launch
fails because memory.dll file not found???
User login set to admin, UAC off, firewall off blah blah blah- anyone have
any ideas on how to install/uninstall from here- btw, checked registry for
software folder as per some help thing somewhere(!) and the DICE folder it
said to find is not there...HELP!
