Installing sp2

Drew

I have heard from an equally uninformed friend that I should uninstall
Spybot and Adaware before installing sp2, and after the installation I can
reinstall them.

Is this necessary?

How should I treat Norton AV?

Thanks

SpyBot Search & Destroy and Ad-aware are no problem. Disable Norton products
during install. You may have to update the Norton products afterwards. You
can't have two firewall programs.

Hi

If SpyBot Search and Destroy is configured to lock down things
(e.g. Internet Options etc.), I would have uninstalled it before
installing SP2, and then put it back after SP2 is installed.

I see no reason to uninstall them, as long as you don't run them at the
time.

That and any other AV should be disabled for the duration.
