Installing SP2 for Outlook 2007

Hi,
Service Pack 2 for Outlook 2007 won't install. The installation gets
corrupted in the middle of the process. I downloaded it from Microsoft.
What might be the reason for that?

Any help would be much appreciated.

It said: 2007 Microsoft Office Service Pack 2 (SP2)- Installation of the
package failed.

Did you have Office up to date on patches, etc. before this service pack? Is
your operating system properly updated? (eg Windows XP SP 3)

SP3 for Windows XP was not installed. Installing it, solved the problem.
