Installing sound cards! ARG!!!

S

Seth

Ive tried to install THREE sound cards already. TWO of
which I specifically so on the windowsXP Hardware
Compatability List. They ALL say WINXP Compatible. NONE
EVER WORK.
I put the card into the PCI slot.
I turn on my computer.
I install the card using the built in winXP hardware
installion AND I'VE ALSO TRIED using the vendors
installation CD.
After is restarts, my computer does not function for about
a minute until it starts to work normal again, there is NO
sound. When I goto to Control Panel>Sound Devices it tells
me there is NO AUDIO DEVICE or it will say NO PLAYBACK
DEVICE.
I've tried most recently the Mad Dog Multimedia Prowler
4.1 PDS and I've also tried a Creative CT-5808.
My sound, video, and game controllers in my Device Manager
loko as follows:
Aduio Codecs
CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Standard Game Port
Video Codecs

Please someone email me with help.
(e-mail address removed)
thank you.

need ta disable it if you havent already.

The CT-5808 is an OEM card. You will need the OEM drivers.
Mad Dog products are really off brands.

Use device manager to delete all sound cards, then install
the best sound card you have.
