Installing Software on Windows XP

CUMBRIAKEN

My registered copy of Corel Paint Shop Pro X will not install. The
installation starts OK but locks with 1 second to go. Control alt
delete states the programme is running but does not move. Files appear
on the hard diskin the directory but will not startup.
Modem disconnected so can not be AV fault there is a gremlin somewhere.
Please can any one help
