Installing problems

I am having problems when I download a program, and
install it, when I click on the icon on the desktop, it
starts to reinstalling itself again. I can't just get it
to run.
A lot of the problems seems to be with zip files. I'm
having problems getting them to install and then let me
start the program... it also start the installation all
over again

Amber, if it's a Zip File you have to Extract it and then Install using
the .exe file. You can use the WinXP Extractor or
try WinZip. http://www.winzip.com/ddchomea.htm

Rich ... thanks for the reply.
I tried that again, and the shortcut that appears on the
desktop shows it's a folder, and one other time I tried
it stated "shortcut for xxxx", and both of them take me
back to installing the program.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong.
