installing on 2nd partition

I have tried to install XP on a 2nd partition but it will not let me. It won't even let me delete the present XP.

It says Cannot delete. There are temporary files need to complete installation

I cannot choose to install on a 2nd partiton. It says to choose C to do this but nothing.

It gives m

To set up XP on selected item press ente

To create a partition in the unpartitioned space press

To delelte selected partition press

All I am allowed to do is press enter.

How can I get it so that I can instal XP on a 2nd partition

If I read your question correctly the problem is - you can't install on a
second partition because you don't have one. It must be created first using
FDISK; and if you do that you will wipe out the info in your existing
partition.

Are you booting from the XP CD or trying to upgrade from within your present
version of Windows?

Why are you tryig to install XP a second time on the same computer?

Sounds like you are trying to install XP by autoplaying or running setup.exe
while booted to XP. Try booting to the CD to do the install.

Are you booting from the XP CD or trying to upgrade from within your presen
version of Windows?

Booting from the C

Why are you tryig to install XP a second time on the same computer

My camcorder is not being recognized anymore and I have heard that if you install XP on a 2nd partition that usually fixes the problem with the camcorder not being recognized. I will be recognized on the 2nd partition
