I inserted XP Pro on new hard drive installed today (Seagate 120 GB) it goes
thru its process, when I'm at teh screen that says "The following list shows
the exisisting partitions and unpartitioned space on this computer" To
install XP on selected item press enter. To create partition in unpartitioned
space press C. To delete the selected partition press D. Below all that it
says unknown disk (There is no disk in this drive) And my options at teh
bottom to select from are Enter, D, F3 (to quit). Did I do something wrong?
When I hit enter I get A problem has been detected and windows has been shut
down, blah blah blah.

Are other hds plugged into the board, unplug all but the seagate, replug others
when xp is up & running. Most drives come from the mfg in a "raw"
state,however
if any partitions exist,delete them,create one,install xp..Also,what is xp
pro-home.
Its either one or the other.
