Installing new hardware will trip lockout

I want to upgrade my PC with a few new things but iknow
this is goin to trip the MS lockout (black screen). What
do I do?

Do you mean Activation?
If so, simply activate as requested.
Worst case is a 5 minute call to Microsoft.

No already activated it a long time ago. I am talking
about making some major the hardware changes. new
graphiccard more ram and a new DVD burner, and I have
already added some new hardware before. I add a internal
zip drive. From what I understand XP only gives you 3
changes before you have to call them or something.

Once the threshold is reached, Activation will again be necessary.
Different hardware items are weighted differently.
