Installing new hard drive cant get past post

I recently had a corrupt hard drive that I need to replace. A little
background. I originally got a full system from a well know PC manufacture
and about 2 years ago my motherboard went out and had to replace with one not
from them. I still have the CD driver from that board. My problem I am
encountering is when I replaced the old drive with the new one and turn on,
it keeps hanging at "verifying DMI pool data" with a hard fast blinking
cursor under it, and wont go past it.

can anyone help with this?
