Hi, my system has onboard 64Mb graphics (built into the motherboard)? I
would like to install a 256Mb dedicated graphcs card. Could i do this
easily, is it just plug and play or would i have to disable the onboard
first? Could the two cause confliction problems as i cannot remove the
onboard physically.Thanks in advance.

As long as you have an available graphics card slot(agp or pci-e) you can
install a graphics card.
When your computer boots up go into the bios and select which video source
you wish to use, it's different for many bioses.
