installing msn patch -- says i need IE6 but tahts what i have

I am trying to install
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/8139
51/default.asp
which requires that
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/8108
47/default.asp
also be installed.
When 810847 is installed it gives an error stating that IE
6 must first be installed but thats what I'm using!!
Does anyone know why it would do this or how to
uninstall/reinstall IE6 -- it doesnt appear on the list
for add/remove programs in the control panel

not sure why it would say that, but you can find the
uninstall in add/remove then go to add/remove windows
