Installing Microsoft Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

Joe Kadel

Installation of Intellipoint Mouse 5.0 software and
IntelliType Pro 5.0 Keyboard software was successfull and
following instructions for physically attaching receiver I
was asked to reboot machine (Dell Optiplex 100) twice
after installing software. When I came back up after the
second reboot, I attached the receiver to the USB port.
Keyboard and mouse worked at this point. I shut down and
rebooted by computer and received a blue screen with the
following message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL with a
reference to ntoskrnl.exe. Checked all hardware
connections and they were ok. Reboot gave the same
response. Removed the receiver and reattached the old
mouse and keyboard and computer booted fine.

Any ideas on what I might be doing or not doing that
prevents me from installing and using this mouse and
keyboard.

Thanks

I stopped trying to install that and any other fancy mouse/keyboard
software....
....always seems just to be a recipe to mess my w2k up.

BTW... most of the extra keyboard/mouse buttons work anyway... and the ones
that don't I find I don't miss.
