installing just access software?

i have access software on old computer, but use new laptop with xp prof. 2002
that doesn't include access (pub. instead). Can i just install old access
software, without installing other older ms office products. only interested
in access installation. thanks or is it best to bite the bullet and get
new access.

Shouldn't be a problem. When you install the CD, you should get an option to
do a custom install. Select only Access from what appears, and you should be
okay.

Of course, this assumes that your old version of Office was a full version,
as opposed to an upgrade version (if it's an upgrade version, you won't be
able to install unless there's a qualifying product on the new machine). As
well, remember that your license probably doesn't allow you to install on
multiple machines.
