I need help. Jackson won't install due to the conflict with 32-bit/16-bit
(XP will not accept 16-bit) Have gone to Jackson...they say it is a microsoft
problem. Tried the MS knowledge base article #324767-still won't work,
probably my fault. Dell won't help. I have a Dimension4600 new this year.

Software developers are always quick to place the blame somewhere
else. If the program won't run, try running it in compatibility mode.
Most older Windows 16 bit programs run OK in XP. Exceptions are games
that try to directly access hardware. You might ask them if they
intend to release a version for XP.

You're not going to get any help from Dell since software
compatibility with XP is the responsibility of the software publisher.
By the way, I tried to find info on that program in Google, but no
hits at all. How old is the program?

Disregard my previous post. I found the Jackson software site and
looked around a bit at the product you're having difficulty with.
While they don't specifically say on the site that GradeQuick 9 is
compatible with XP, I assume it is. They say it's new and is for
Windows and even supports the Max OSX-10 operating system. The
program should be 32 bit not 16 bit.

By the way, their support cost per call is outrageous at $85 per
incident. If you have free support left, get on the phone and have
them resolve the problem.
