Aussie in trouble - XP Pro & DOS

HELP ! I have XP PRO on my system

I have this message come up when trying to load a program:

16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem
c:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsft Windows
applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.


Have gone on the Microsoft web site and have tried to fix
as per article 324767 (reloading files) but still wont
work! Any
suggestions would be appreciated
