I want to install the IIS on my XP Pro machine with SP2 installed after a
dwonload some months ago. When I go to the Control Panel and select the IIS
from the Windows Add-ons, I am prompted to put inthe XP Pro Disk with SP2.

I downloaded SP2 from the web many months ago. Why cannot I install the IIS??

Is there a link for the install for those of us who downloaded SP2 without a
disk??

Thanks.

Gary;

Makes sense, but I am wondering since I got an OEM CD with Pro when I bought
the PC is this going to make the process unworkable?

I'm not always sure how the OEM disks will work on something like this?

There is a comment in another newsgroup that the SP2 download is common for
retail or OEM versions and should slipstream/integrate with no problems and
the key code will be maintained.

Also, do a Google search on AutoStreamer - it is a program that will help
you to perform the slipstream.

The only problem arises if the installation media is a Restore disk or
partition. Standard installation disks, OEM or "retail", can be used to
build a slipstreamed disk. (No, I don't know what to do in the case of
Restore disks or partitions.)

I did the slipstream with the same results. I stumbled onto this and it
finally resolved the issue. Somehow I had a corrupt file.

esentutl /p Drive:\WinDir\security\database\secedit.sdb

Then it worked just fine.
