Installing DSL on XP Pro

G

Guest

I just finished building a new pc with XP Pro installed

Everytime I try and install Verizon DSL I get an error when it tries to hit
the Verizon Authentication server. I first get a windows Sercurity Alert pop
up that says something about a certificate (I can't seem to find where to
turn this off) and then I get a verizon page that says It wasn't able to
connect. I can't connect to anything using IE

Does anyone know what you need to do to set up DSL in XP Pro?

Thanks for all you help

Get a Cable/DSL Router.
I can't tell if you are a fGTE cusomer using DHCP or a fBellAtlantic custromer using PPPoE
since you are posting via "Norwest Technical Services."

However, once a Cable/DSL Router is installed you don't need any Verizon DSL Software on the
PC if you use PPPoE.
Additionally, WinXP also comes stock with its own PPPoE connector.

If you are already a Verizon DSL: subscriber and you just rebuilt a system then your account
already exists. Again, there is ZERO need for Verizon software.

As a Verizon DSL customer you will get the best help from fellow Verizon customers who can
help you specifically with the various Westell DSL modems Verizon provides and the best
setup.
