Installing DirecX

I purchased Da Vinci's Secret online through yahoo. In order to play the game
I need DirectX. When I try to intall, I get 2 error messages. 1) The software
you are installing has not not passed Windows Logo testing to verify it's
compatibility with Windows XP, 2) An internal system error. Refer to
DXError.log and DirectXlog.log in Windows folder to determine problem.
Now I did download the softare from Microsoft so I am confused why it's not
installing. When I check the Windows folder (DXError.log) it says the fiel is
not signed properly.
So my question is why is DirectX not installing and what can I do to fix it??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

If you want to have a choice when confronted with the Logo testing
warning, proceed as follows:

Open control panel and click system.
Click the 'hardware' tab and then the 'Driver signing' button.
Choose the 'Warn - .....' option. OK your way out of the program.
CAUTION!! - Only allow drivers to be installed where you are sure that
they come from a reputable source!!

Hope this will fix your problem.

Hi Nessa,

Here are a few solutions for the DirectX 9 "Logo Testing" error,
as well as other errors when trying to install patches or updates:

Here's a quick solution to try before reading through the other steps:
1.. Start the Administrative Tools utility in Control Panel.
2.. Double-click Services.
3.. Right-click Cryptographic Services, and then click Properties.
4.. Click Automatic for Startup type, and then click Start.

If that doesn't work, then grab a soda and get ready for some fun. ;-)

3. Repairing Windows is our final option. Boot from your Windows

bootup order in your BIOS) and then follow the instructions at:
