installing directx

I am trying install the DirectX update and it fails..so I downloaded the FULL
install and still installation fails here is the log..can anyone offer a
solution?

Current DirectX may be a older version which does not have directx key

Start | Run <type in> DXDIAG <enter>
and see if it even needs to be bother'd with.

Everything not fine? uninstall DX and try again.

I ran dxdiag it said no problems but it said version of directx unknown and i
got an error message saying directx couldnt find netdtect.dll and failed to
launch..but under the tabs it said no problems found..it said one file was
outdated that was it

I don't find any of the file names you mention or mention'd in the
errors (this includes the registry), this is DX9.0c upgrade correct?

If so download it again from a different site, and the entire file,
not a net upgrade.

This particular error seems to be DX specific and related to particular
games. This is a quote and take it at that:

Get DirectX Eradicator 1.09 Preview Release 2

uninstall direct 9.0a.
uninstallation will require windows cd.

run dxdiag. you should be back to directx 7.x

put directx8.1 back on and you are good to go
