Installing and activating fonts for use in all applications

I want to make my windows' fonts available to indesign as well. Indesign
help tells me to see my system documentation, but nowhere have I found
anything that relates to making my fonts available in both programs. Can
someone out there steer me in the right direction? Thanks.

InDesign should use Windows fonts and any font you copy to its fonts
folder, according to Google Groups.
