Installing a Lexmark printer onto my Windows XP home edition system

I could not install my Lexmark 6100 series printer onto
the Windows XP home edition that I have on my Sony Vaio
notebook computer. It gives me the message:'Print spooler
service is not running' when I loaded the installation CD
which came with the computer. It would not complete the
install operation.
