installer file + quickcam express

Hi,

I already have an application that fully works on the Windows XP
operating system.
By clicking on the installer database (exe-file) all the necessary
prerequisites are automatically being installed.

Should it be possible to do the same on the XPe target device after a
basic image has been deployed to target or do I have to create
components for all these individual underlying programs and then build
the runtime?

Furthermore, I've readed there's already a built-in component
available in the XPe database for the Logitech Quickcam Express
webcam.
Under which directory should I be able to find this?

Thanks in advance,

FCBfreak

You can definitely create an image that will allow you to install programs. If the installer is MSI based, make sure to include
Windows Installer Service component.
Regardless of if you are going to install your apps manually at run time or create components for them, you will be responsible for
satisfying the app dependencies in your image.

There are images out there that have lots of software components and are closely emulate XP Pro environment. E.g., XPProEmulation
image from www.xpefiles.com that includes virtually every software component from XPe database and hence from XP Pro.

Please make use of TD Filter feature to search for components by name, files, etc.

Because component for the Logitech Quickcam Express webcam already is
in database, it isn't necessary anymore to connect the cam to the
target when running the analyzer tool, right?

Or maybe it's better to do so anyway due to compatibility reasons
between different driver versions?
