Installer 3.1

I have had problems with downloading and installing programs - i am running
xp 2 and have downloaded installer 3.1 to try and sort the problems i am
having but it has not solved the problem, i tried downloading MBSA to analyze
the computer and give me a solution but it did not install because the
installer did not have the neccessary permissions. the package 893803 (v2) is
probably the answer to my problems but it will not install. (i'm going bald
and slightly crazy with this does anyone have the solution) PLEASE
 
Do you see any errors when this happens? Look in the event log for events
with corresponding times to these installation errors and post them here.
Event viewer can be found in control panel under administrative tools. To
copy errors click the copy button under the up and down arrow buttons and
paste in notepad. Recopy relevent information to paste in your reply here.
