Installation Woes

Having just purchased a new desktop, I have tried to upgrade my XP home with
my upgrade of XP Pro. Two issues come up. First time I tried I was
successful at upgrading, however my built in media card readers all
disappeared. Restored back to XP Home, and now when I try I get a message
stating that my current version of Windows is newer than my XP Pro, and it
will not let me continue. Any ideas?

If you installed SP2 on Home, uninstall it. That causes the version of Home
to be newer than the version of XP you are upgrading to. You complete the
upgrade to Pro and then post back about the card readers.
