Installation:Windows XP Pro can not copy some files on installation

All I wanna do is installating WinXP Pro SP1.
Right after configuring network on installation, it said
"cannot copy filename bla...bla..bla..make sure your
windows installation cd is inserted..."
In a simple way, it said that it could not continue because
it failed to find some files needed in installition with a
box to browse where the hell the file is...
It was a new fresh installation in a blank harddisk.
I suspected my CD-ROM drive wanted to be cleaned, or the
IDE cable was not good so I changed to a new one ( I did it
4 times with 4 IDE cable ), or the installation CD was
damage so I used 5 different CDs I've got to try.
Well...all of those ended fail........
When it show a box to browse a file which it couldn't
locate, I navigated it so it find the file...BUT IT ALWAYS
SAID IT CAN'T FIND THE FILE.
The file that is failed to locate is come various name, one
an .exe file, .dll file , etc ( I tried to install this 10
times !!! and now I'm sick of it )
What the hell is goin' on ?????

I've had similar problems trying to install the slipstreamed SP1 WinXP in the past, so much so I gave up installed Gold then put sp1 on it manually. Cant really tell you what the problem is, but that was my work around until I get 5 minutes to look at it.

I have had this problem as well. In 90% of the cases it was a RAM issue.
The other 10% were usually CD ROM problems. I would bet that yours is the
RAM issue.

I'll validate that... went to hell and back trying install xp pro, all
because I wouldn't believe it could be a ram issue. Turned out that the
2 sticks of 128 that I new to be good on their own, had timing issues
when used as a pair.
