Installation problems with Microtek Scanner

I install Microtec Scanmaker 6000. When I start the
computer, I see a message in the right corner of win xp,
that says scanner not ready. I go into device manager,
and imaging devices, and it shows a problem. it tells me
to uninstall the defive, then run the hardware wizard.
When I do, it finds the scanner, loads the software, and
it works fine. Until... I either reboot, or shut off the
machine. Then it reverts to its intitial state. How can
I make it remember the settings? or correct this
problem. Microtec has been unable to solve this problem.

Microtec or Microtek?

Microtek would have to be the ones to fix this. They are the ones who wrote the
driver. Only they know what their driver is doing.

Do you have their latest drives? ScanWizard 5 version 5.85 ?
